The following links will connect you to various free code and examples you can use to 'dress up' your SAPro-based auctions. In the coming weeks, I hope to be adding more samples and examples - things you can add to your auctions to help set you apart from the crowd. And remember, custom templates are available for most any need - just contact RKS at the email address below! Free Notes on "Dressing Up" Your Auctions: These notes really apply to anyone posting an auction on eBay, but they especially apply to those who want are or want to become serious eBay sellers. This list is far from complete, but it's just part of what I teach my clients. Adding a Search My Auctions feature: This feature is a few lines of html code that you can add to your template to offer your bidders the ability to search your auctions, just like they do in the eBay Stores! But be warned, this is best used when you have a large volume of auctions. Preventing Right Click Image Borrowing: This little bit of script will prevent the casual borrowing of your images. There are still other ways of borrowing, but for the casual user, right clicking and then Save Image As is the only method known. This scripts stops or slows that casual user down. My links have gone dead - Pro won't open my browser! This is a quick fix -- it means that Windows has lost track of what program to use to open web pages or URL links. Read and follow the directions on the following SAPro Documentation page (Thanks Blackthorne!!) Windows keeps default applications to use for opening different types of documents. In
her case, the installation of Netscape changed the default app for viewing HTML files and
URL's. She has probably changed the associations for some of the uses of Netscape, but not
all. For instance, she may have changed Windows so it uses IE for HTML files, but not for
URL's or vice versa. The link below shows how to set them for HTML files, and she should
make sure the URL's do the same thing. Adding a Buyer Feedback Link to your SAPro email: This is a simple email template you can use to ask your buyers how they liked their item... while also reminding them that they haven't left feedback yet, and providing a custom link to their Leave Feedback page for this specific auction. You don't want to get obsessive with this -- a simple text-only reminder on the pack slip (or whatever you put in each shipment), a note at the bottom of the shipping confirmation email, and then this gentle reminder at 60 or so days past shipment. |
